Consolidated Rental Car Facility

Andy J. Egan Co., is supporting significant expansions at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport as the mechanical contractor for the new Consolidated Car Rental Facility (CONRAC), a new five-story ready/return parking garage in addition to the three-story QTA facility. Egan's scope includes the underground plumbing, along with install storm and sanitary lines in the parking ramp. We also installed mechanical piping for the car wash and fueling stations that will be part of the Quick Turn-Around (QTA) facility for rental car operations. Egan's Sheet Metal Division installed 40,000 cfm fans and associated exhaust ventilation for the fueling station. Our VDC team did extensive point layout for both piping and sheet metal hangers. Tension cables run throughout the concrete for greater strength, and drilling through the concrete to install hangers would risk hitting one of the cables. Instead, our precise layout allowed the hangers to be installed prior to the concrete being poured.
