Clark Construction selected Egan for the mechanical scope of the 17-story hotel that is part of Gun Lake Casino's $300 million expansion. Scheduled to open in 2025, the hotel will feature 252 rooms when completed, each using a unique ventless system. The sanitary piping relied heavily on CAD coordination, thanks to the curved shape of the building. Instead of straight runs of pipe, Egan had to adjust periodically to match the curves, using fabricated spools from our shop to match the required angles. The chilled water, heating and sanitary piping will all tie into the original building, making the jump from the lower level of the new structure to the existing roof. Egan is conducting all of the MEP layout using Leica iCON 70 to create computer-generated datapoints that rely on GPS, for a faster, more accurate installation.

On the hotel’s rooftop, you’ll find two DOAS units for more efficient heating and cooling, and the main floor mechanical room houses two 5,000 lb heat exchangers for the building’s chilled water system. A basement plumbing room contains the building’s water softener system, water heaters, boilers, a pressure reducing station, main backflows and domestic water system.

In 2026, Gun Lake Casino Resort received the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Rating, becoming the sixth West Michigan hotel to receive such a designation.
