Orthopedic Center

Egan was part of the Pre-Construction and Design-Assist Team for Corewell Health's new 117,000 square-foot Orthopedic Center, providing HVAC and plumbing trades. Located on the East Beltline, adjacent to the Corewell Health Integrated Care Campus, the Orthopedic Center provides sports performance training, orthopedic urgent care and comprehensive rehabilitation services. Egan also coordinated the mechanical systems in 3D, detailed to level 350. The mechanical and plumbing scope included two domestic hot water systems, a medical gas system, reverse osmosis system, sanitary and storm piping, a gas-fired boiler system with associated piping and rooftop units, snowmelt, building controls and more.

AJE was a major asset during the pre-construction phase. We were able to collaborate with AJE early as our design assist partners and VDC collaborators. By engaging AJE early, they were able to catch design challenges and save the owner both time and money by identifying conflicts and creating opportunities. This proactive approach allowed more time on the front end to address and resolve potential issues before they became a constraint to the project's baseline schedule.

During construction, the dedication of AJE's field team, who worked diligently to overcome unforeseen challenges while maintaining a safe work environment, was commendable. From commitment to commissioning, AJE’s team consistently demonstrated open communication, professionalism, expertise, and a strong commitment to quality.
