GRAM Expansion Phase III

Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing

Construction TechnologyFabricationMechanical Contracting

Continuing its partnership with Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing and CRB, Andy J. Egan Co. provided mechanical services for Phase III of their Butterworth campus expansion. The pharmaceutical manufacturer converted warehouse space into an additional filling line, constructing a penthouse above the space to support the equipment below. Egan expanded the capacity of GRAM's compressed air, heating, WFI and pure steam systems by installing new equipment and associated piping. While the majority of the work took place in the new penthouse, some installations occurred in existing spaces. For instance, a WFI tank was purchased and set into place during a previous phase, but tie-ins happed in Phase 3. Egan installed new heat pumps and chilled water supply lines outside of the penthouse. The expansion also required a new rooftop chiller and associated piping.
