115 MW Power Plant
Lansing Board of Water & Light
In a joint venture with Northern Boiler, Egan is helping to construct a new 115 MW Power Plant on the existing Delta Energy Park site. Egan's scope includes cooling water; oil piping; urea piping for injections and emissions testing; and fuel gas piping.
Hear from Dave Klemish, Owner's Representative for the Lansing Board of Water & Light, as he discusses the successful completion of this utility infrastructure and power generation project. Six Wärtsilä 50SG large-bore natural gas engines power the facility's six generators, which vary their output to meet changing electrical grid demands. The plant operates intermittently as a supplemental power source to maintain grid stability while still meeting the board's renewable power goals.
Dave highlights the importance of detailed project sequencing and BIM coordination, which was achieved through early contractor involvement and kept this complex energy infrastructure project on schedule.
Completed with more than 450,000 trade hours, the project achieved an outstanding safety record with zero lost-time incidents and zero recordable injuries.
This video features a progress update from Summer 2025 with Egan's Director of Fabrication, Pat Heffron, explaining how multiple trade partners came together to fully coordinate and support this project.
