Plant Expansion

Egan provided full mechanical services and building controls for the 1+ million square-foot expansion at a lithium ion battery plant. The plant manufactures batteries for electric vehicles, and the expansion increases production capacity for the owner by five-fold. Egan has been serving this location continuously since 2012 for renovations, repairs and expansions. Additionally, our controls division has installed and maintained HVAC equipment controls across 10 buildings for more than a decade, using Johnson Controls products as an Authorized Building Controls Specialist. The controls system maintains current space conditions and monitors all humidity dewpoint and temperatures in those facilities, which are tightly controlled for ideal manufacturing conditions. The facilities team can view trends and receives alerts for any out-of-spec conditions. In total, there are more than 300 pieces of rooftop equipment wirelessly monitored through an open protocol system. Egan's mechanical scope on this project included process piping for both hot oil and gas, dehumidification units, modular chiller plant, a substantial compressor room, utilities building, piping for coater ovens in the manufacturing plant, and more.
