Grand Rapids Public Schools
Completed in 2024, Egan was one of the trade partners on the renovation of GRPS's Innovation Central, a more than 100-year-old school in Grand Rapids. Egan's scope included the installation of 80+ new pieces of mechanical equipment, 35,000+ linear feet of pipe, and nearly 3 miles of ductwork. New air handling units and boilers replaced outdated equipment, providing a complete upgrade of the building's HVAC system. Egan was been careful to maintain the historic requirements of the century-old building while bringing its energy efficiency performance into the 21st century. Innovation Central's historical significance extends beyond the building's age. First Lady Betty Ford graduated from the school in 1936, and its auditorium is dedicated to her.
